Telscape is a photoluminescent mean of escape system designed for high rise buildings and stadiums.
In an emergency evacuation, when electrical lighting fails, Telscape will glow in the dark creating shafts of light that delineates hazards and gives the confidence to escapees, guiding them to safety. Not only does Telscape help saves lives, when compared to the cost of electrical emergency lighting, Telscape customers can save up to 60%.
The Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005 No.1541, Clause 14. states:-
“…emergency routes and exits requiring illumination must be provided with emergency lighting of adequate intensity in the case of failure of their normal lighting”.
RRFSO 2005 does not state the lighting must be electrical but, more importantly, it must be of “adequate intensity”. Therefore, an electrical system which may be obscured by smoke could possibly be deemed inadequate.
